Position Paper Blog #5: Global Warming

Many people say that global warming is just a myth and nothing is going to happen to the earth. My opinion is different. I feel as though global warming is happening and could get very serious if we don't do anything about it. There are many different interesting facts and statistics about global warming. The three best facts and statics that I have found are:

The warmest year on record was in 2005. If the climates keep rising then the temperatures might get to high for anymore life to live on earth. If everyone tried to help save the earth from global warming we could do a lot to help after a while. The ice and glaciers are melting so much in the ocean that the sea level has risen 5-9 inches in the past 100 years. The water level is still rising now and will keep rising. Overtime, the water might sink coastal cities and a large portion of florida. Last but not least, drought has been getting much worse. Over the years it has been recorded that much of the earth has been getting drought much faster and easier. If global warming continues, then all these events will start getting much worse if the earths population does not do anything to help.

Position Paper Blog #4: Global Warming

There are many different opinions in global warming, and many different facts that lead to those different opinions. Some people think that global warming doesn't exist because there is not enough information to prove that it is happening. And other people think that global warming is an issue that we need to fix in order for the world to be healthy.
Studies show that the earth's temperatures have slowly been rising since 1980. The Arctic is where it has the most effect on, and that is why the ice is melting. Other studies say that the earth has not been getting any warmer in the past 10 years and that the ice is not melting at all. That isn't entirely true because some ice obviously has to melt due to global warming, or just naturally it will melt. People can choose which ever side they want to be on, but global warming might not be effecting the earth that rapidly for people to notice a change.
